Ingredient Notes

You just need a few simple ingredients to make this boozy strawberry lemonade!

labeled shot of strawberry lemonade ingredients

Lemon Juice - If you don't mind juicing lemons, you should absolutely use fresh lemon juice!! It has a much better flavor than bottled lemon juice.

Strawberries - I prefer fresh strawberries because they have a sweeter flavor, but you could also use thawed frozen strawberries.

Simple Syrup - We use simple syrup (aka sugar and water) to add sweetness to the lemonade.

Vodka - I like using a mild vodka like Tito's for this lemonade but it would also be delicious with a citrus flavored vodka like Ketel One Botanicals Peach & Orange Blossom (which is my all time faveee)!

If you feel like cheating a bit (I won't tell anyone), you can also just substitute the lemon juice and simple syrup for pre-made lemonade. But I just think the homemade version tastes better!

How to Make Simple Syrup

First we're going to make a simple syrup with the sugar and water so that all the sugar dissolves completely.

Since we have leftover lemon peels from squeezing out the lemon juice, you can just add those in too! You could also add in some sliced strawberries if desired.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • lemon peels (optional)
  1. Add the sugar, water, and leftover lemon peels to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and strain out the lemon peels.
  4. Let cool completely to room temperature, about 30 minutes.

How to Make Spiked Lemonade

Add the sliced strawberries to the bottom of a large pitcher and muddle gently.

Add in the simple syrup, lemon juice, vodka, and 2 cups of water and stir to combine.

Taste and add more water if desired.

Serving Suggestions

Pour lemonade over ice and add in more sliced strawberries and lemons.

If you're feeling fancy, rub some lemon juice along the edge of the glass and dip in sugar for a fun sugar rim!

Recipe FAQ's

How long will homemade lemonade last in the fridge?

This homemade strawberry lemonade will last in the fridge for up to a week! Just be sure to strain out any large pieces of fruit as they will become mushy after a couple days.

Can I make this boozy strawberry lemonade with a different kind of alcohol?

Absolutely!! Vodka has a very neutral flavor, but this lemonade is also delicious with gin, tequila, or champagne!
