Salted Caramel Macarons
These salted caramel macarons have a simple French macaron shell and are filled with homemade salted caramel buttercream!

This homemade salted caramel is the star of the recipe! It's best made a day before the macarons.
Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar and set aside.
Whip the egg whites until the meringue forms stiff peaks.
Fold the dry ingredients into the meringue and mix until the batter flows gently and can form a figure 8.
Pipe the macarons and allow to dry for 40 minutes before baking. Bake at 300°F for 13-15 minutes.
Assemble the macarons and drizzle with salted caramel and flaky sea salt!
