Use small star cookie cutters to cut apple slices and watermelon into star shapes! Or just add apple and watermelon chunks to the sangria instead.
Add all of the fruit to a large pitcher.
Add in the wine, vodka, lemon juice, (and sugar if using), and stir gently to combine.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to allow the fruit time to infuse the sangria.
Add in the soda immediately before serving.
Serve over ice and don't forget to ladle some of the fruit into each glass!
Notes
Sangria is best served within 24 hours, but keeps for 2-3 days in the fridge. You’ll notice the color of the fruit will become pale the longer you keep it and the flavor will intensify and become sweeter.
